Exciting AALF Events that Empower African Americans

We Good? COVID-19 & Black MN Virtual Town Hall (Every other Wednesday from 11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.) The event takes place via Zoom and is livestreamed through AALF’s official Facebook page). The African American Leadership Forum (AALF), Insight News, NorthPoint Health & Wellness, Minnesota Community Care, The Minnesota Spokesman-Recorder, and Children’s Minnesota have partnered to create this bi-weekly town hall that considers the health, economic, educational and family & culture impacts of COVID-19 on Minnesota’s African American community and includes a panel of African American leaders, healthcare providers, educators, and others to keep you and your family healthy and informed throughout the public health crisis. The town hall offers relevant and timely information from African American professionals in the Black community to the Black community, with diverse perspectives, personal stories, and important resources to support our community’s resilience. Watch previous segments.

AALF invites you to attend our Collective Impact Black Community Morning and Afternoon Listening Sessions on Education. The purpose of this community event is to center Black voices in identifying the challenges facing the African American community and aligns with our community engagement efforts that use a Black-Centered Design (BCD) approach to solving these challenges. While we’re not able to address all the disparities in our community around the issue of education we’re creating a space for the Black community to voice its opinions about our community’s most pressing issues and how we can move forward.
